- Corrosion is the deterioration of a metal reaction due to electron transfer between the materials in question. This study aims to reduce the rate of corrosion due to the ill effects of the reaction. This study used inhibitors binahong leaf extract using ST 37 steel specimens tested at 3% NaCl corrosive media. Variations inhibitor used 7% and 13% is added to a solution of corrosive media and use paint soaked with variations in immersion time of 3, 6, 9, 12, and 15 days. The results of the study are the addition of inhibitors binahong leaf extract 13% more effective to reduce the corrosion rate with the highest decline into 25.446 mpy, the leaf inhibititor binahong 7% 25.533 mpy, and the painting of 26.211 mpy
