EFEK EKSTRAK DAUN JAMBU BIJI (PSIDIUM GUAJAVA L) SEBAGAI INSEKTISIDA NYAMUK AEDES SP STADIUM DEWASA DENGAN METODE ELEKTRIK
Daftar Isi:
- Background: The prevalence of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) cases in Indonesia is increasing every year. This amount is due to the lack of effective 3M Plus PSN program and the effect of DHF fogging measures. Malathion chemicals used as insecticides have caused resistance to mosquitoes Aedes sp. Alternative natural ingredients that can be used as natural insecticides are guava leaves (Psidium guajava L). Guava leaf extract (Psidium guajava L) has antioxidant activity because it contains tannins, flavonoids, terpenoids and saponins. Purpose: To prove guava leaf extract (Psidium guajava L) has an insecticidal effect on adult Aedes sp mosquitoes by electric methods. Method: True experimental post test only control group design. Samples used 20 adult Aedes sp mosquitoes were repeated 4 times. Guava leaf extract concentration of 1%, 2%, 3%, 4% & 5%, with positive control of malathion and negative control of aquades solution. Statistical analysis uses the Kruskall-Wallis test, the Mann Whitney test and the Spearman correlation test. Results of Research and Discussion: Kruskal Wallis test results were significance (P<0.05). Mann Whitney's Post Hoc Test showed a knockdown effect at concentrations of 4% and 5%. The Spearman correlation test found a sufficient relationship between the knockdown effect with the magnitude of the concentration of guava leaf extract (p = 0.013 and r = 0.464). In the study obtained LC 50 at all concentrations and LC 90 at concentrations of 3%, 4% and 5%. The test results showed the antioxidant content of guava leaf extract has an insecticidal effect with an electric method that can be spread evenly and contact with mosquitoes longer. Conclusion: Guava leaf extract (Psidium guajava L.) has an insecticidal effect on adult Aedes sp. Mosquitoes by electric methods at concentrations of 3%, 4% and 5%.
