- The Foundation for the Development of Children with Disabilities is a foundation that was established on March 24 1995, the foundation was founded by Dr. Tsarekat Prawirowijoto in collaboration with mothers who care about social welfare, this foundation provides several medical spaces used for the rehabilitation process of children with special needs and pravo classes that aim to train the skills of children who attend school at the foundation, while the dormitory is provided to accommodate children with special needs if the family wants to leave their children at YPAC. The purpose of this study is to find out what social support is given to children with special needs in an effort to increase children's independence, this research is a type of descriptive research with a qualitative approach, data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation, then data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation and verification or drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that social support provided to children with special needs including emotional support, instruments, awards, networks and information support has been going well, this can be seen from the development of children in dormitories who have shown development they like being a better child and can be independent.
