  • This research was conducted in Sambiroto Village regarding the reality of people’s daily lives. The research problems are how the social constructin of the community against contraceptive IUD ( Intra Urine Device) and how social construction contributes to the family planning program. This research uses the theory of Social Construction ( Social Interpretation of reality) Peter L. Berger, Thomas Luckman and Phenomenology Alfred Schutz. This study used a qualitative research method with a case study approach. The research subjects were determined using purposive sampling technique. Data sources were supported by book and journals that are relevant to the research focus. Data collection technique used were observation techniques, in-depth interview techniques and documentation, data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results showed the presence of stigma in the Sambiroto Village commynity of former users of the IUD who had problems, and the truth was acknowledge. The main factors were no compatibility with other contraceptives, doctrine from former IUD users, and the price offered was less affordable for low-income eaners. This has influenced the interest in choosing an IUD. The form of Sambiroto Village community constuctions were that family planning is a family need, family planning is a solution to create a prosperous family, and family planning is a means of population control.
