- Achievement motivation is one of the requirements that must be owned by an athlete, both athletes and athletes with disabilities to normal. There are athletes who easily reach his achievements, but there are also athletes who are slow in reaching achievements. The success of an athlete is determined based on the high achievement motivation, because with highachievement motivation in selfathletes will lead the efforts of an athlete to master the task, achieve maximum results, overcoming obstacles and proud of their ability. In general, athletes with disabilities have a negative assessment of him, they feel insecure, low selfesteem and no confidence in his ability. However, there are also athletes with disabilities who assess handicap as a challenge, this should be determined based on achievement motivation is owned athlete. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between selfesteem with achievement motivation in athletes with disabilities. Type of research is quantitative research. The population in this study were athletes with disabilities who are members of BPOC in South Kalimantan. The sample in this study is disabled athletes with visual impairments, deaf speech and physically disabled. Methods of data collection is the scale, scale selfesteem and achievement motivation. The method of data analysis used the product moment correlation which assisted with the program SPSS 12.0 for windows. The results showed that there is a positive and highly significant correlation between selfesteem with achievement motivation on the disabled athletes with correlation coefficient r = 0, 506 and error probability p 0.001 < 0.01. This means that the higher selfesteem that disabled athletes have the higher the motivation of achievement motivation. Conversely, the lower of self esteem owned athletes with disabilities, the lower the motivation of achievement motivation. Effective contribution to the achievement motivation and self esteem that is equal to 25.6%. The rest 74,4 % was influenced by other factors not examined. Such as personality factors, situational, the tendency to succeed, emotional reactions and behavioral factors to achieve.
