  • The results of the initial needs analysis conducted at SDN Kotalama 01 Malang about the learning process of teachers using the lecture and question and answer method, for the media used by the teacher only contained images in the power point presentation. In the special thematic learning theme 7 students do not really understand the material that has been delivered by the teacher. Based on the existing problems, the research entitled "Development of dotar media (domino learning) on thematic learning theme 7 grade 5" is new and important for implementation. This study was designed to describe and produce diomino media revolving in thematic learning theme lessons in the fifth grade elementary school life. Research and development uses the Borg & Gall development model. There are ten stages in this development model, of the ten stages Borg & Gall implements only in step seven because in the upward stages, nine and ten require higher costs by increasing the area over a long period of time. The seven rounds include potential and problems, collecting data, product design, design validation, design revision, product testing, product revision. While the data collection techniques used in this study are observation, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and tests. Data analysis techniques used in this study consisted of quantitative data and qualitative data intended to study the feasibility and accuracy of the use of media that had been developed. The results obtained showed the percentage of media validation test that is equal to 78.3% with good qualification criteria and suitable for use. While the validation of material experts got a percentage of 87.5% with very good criteria. Likewise with the results of the questionnaire, the response of participants / small group students showed an average value of 93.4% and a large group trial percentage of 92.92% with very good qualification criteria. It was concluded that the development of Basic media on thematic learning theme 7 grade 5 learning 1 was worthy of use in teaching and learning activities.
