  • This study aims to determine the implementation of the drill method in improving the ability of students to memorize Arabic vocabulary and also aims to determine the results of the application of the drill method to increase learners in memorizing Arabic vocabulary in grade VII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Batu This research is qualitative in nature, taking place at SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Batu in the academic year 2019/2020. While this type of research is a case study. The subjects of the research were students of class VII A of SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Batu, totaling 30 students consisting of 16 men and 14 women. Data collection using observation sheets, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis stage is carried out by collecting data that has been obtained and then analyzed with theories and concepts that are general and related to the facts to correct or investigate the problem. The data analysis techniques are: Matching Patterns, Making Explanations, and Time Series Analysis. The results of this study show two main conclusions: (1) The implementation of the drill method which includes preparatory activities, initial activities, core activities, and final activities. (2) After the drill method is implemented there is an increase in memorizing Arabic vocabulary of students, this can be seen in the learning activities running optimally, students look more active and motivated in following Arabic vocabulary learning, the value of the training obtained by students is satisfying and memorizing students who continue to increase.
