  • Social life is an activity related to other people. humas are social creatures, where they cannot live alone, humans always interact, relate, communicate need each other and help each other. socio economic life infolves several aspect of trust, marriage, housing conditions, employment status, and income. this study aims to describe and explain the socio economic life of female traders who use barter trading between women traders in the floating market Lok Baintan, Sungai Tabuk subdistrict, Banjar Rgency, South Kalimantan. this study uses a qualitative approach to the type of phenomenology research and the determination of subject using porpusive sampling. this study applies data collections methods using observasion, in-depth interview and documentation, while for data credibility and firmness ( Comfirmabilitas). the theory used in the analysis of this study is the theory of Alfred Schurt phenomenology of objective meanings, subjective meanings, purpose motives, and cause motives. the result of this research show that:1) the socio economic life women traders in the floating markets Lok Baintan majority are already married, in addition to trading womens side jobs as farmer and planter. the merchandise they sell are from their own agricultural product and same are brought from others traders which are then sold again. 2) the question of buying and selling barter among female tradition of women traders before getting to know their money exchangeing goods for goods, buying and seling barter has its own characteristict that are not in other floating markets and economic factors that do not improve are the reasons women traders still use the sale buy barter without having to use money. Alfred Schurt phenomonological theory analysis of meanings and motives namely barter has been done for a long time and has become a tradition of women traders to fulfill the necessities of life and strengthen the kinship of yellow traders.
