- Balsa (O. bicolorROWLEE) Is a timber coming from Central America and South America, balsa including secondary timber after slashing the wilderness. BalsaIncluding trees grow quickly, within 5-6 years can reach 20 meters high with a diameter of 40 cm. Growth regulators (PGR) is an organic compound instead of plant nutrients in the low concentration of active stimulate, inhibit or alter plant growth and development quantitatively and qualitatively. Auxin is a growth hormone that can not be separated from the process of plant growth and development, The aim of this thesis research isKnowing the influence of soaking plant growth regulator (PGR) and concentration on seed germination and seedling growth balsa (O. bicolorROWLEE).The method used is factorial experiment arranged in a randomized block design (RAK), consists of two factors: the first factor perendamanzat old growth regulator auxin hormone and Factor konsentrasi.Pengamatan done in 2 ways ie non destruktuf (without damaging the crop) in the form germination rate, the percentage of germination, plant height, stem diameter and number of leaves, and detruktif (with damage plants) is to calculate the number of roots, root length, fresh weight of plants and mengoven. The results showed that the best treatment from this research that a real interaction between without concentration (control) dankonsentrasi PGR IAA solution as much as 8 ppm, seed soaking time of 30 minutes and 60 minutes at the variable diameter tinggidan Balsa (O. bicolorROWLEE). The conclusion of this study is a very real interaction on the germination (L0M1), the rate of sprouts (L0M1) and root length (L0M1) balsa seeds (O. bicolor ROWLEE). Significant interaction occurs on the high (L3M1) and diameter (L0M2) seedling balsa (O. bicolor ROWLEE).
