- The existence of the internet can help reduce unemployment and make it easier to get job information. One of the job that can be done through the internet is by becoming a freelancer. The potential for growth in the number of online freelancers in Indonesia will continue to increase. One of the leading sites that connects thousands of freelancers with clients is Sribulancer.com. Clients will only choose freelancers who are considered credible to be given a job. In this study, researchers used the theory of source credibility (Source Credibility Theory) proposed by Hovland, Janis & Kelley. This theory provides an explanation that, the more credible the source of the communicator, the audience will be easier to influence their perspective. Credibility has a very important role in persuading the audience to determine their views. The research method used descriptive type with a qualitative approach. Data obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation. Based on the results of this study, the researchers found that a freelancer is considered credible by the client if a freelancer has expertise that is evidenced by the portfolio, work experience and good reviews from previous clients. In addition, freelancers are considered credible if they have an attraction that can be seen from their ability to master work topics, be trustworthy, and be able to establish good communication with clients. The reputation and performance of freelancers affect the level of client confidence in giving jobs to freelancers.
