  • Background: Urrently obesity is a serious concern because the number of sufferers is increasing, including women of childbearing age. The number of obese patients in pregnant women also increased by around 18.5% to 38.3%. Obesity can also affect fertility in pregnant women and are at risk of miscarriage compared to normal women. Eating patterns in pregnant women must be maintained properly, so that pregnant women do not occur obesity, then mothers are required to diet and should follow a healthy eating diet specifically for pregnant women. Obese pregnant women also cause complications of gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, hypertension and more pregnant women are advised to undergo labor by caesarean section. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of eating patterns in pregnant women with obesity in Kedungkandang Health Center inMalang. Method: This type of research used in this study is descriptive using a cross sectional shortening. The samples in this study were 32 pregnant women at the Kedungkandang Health Center in Malang taken by perposive sampling technique. This data collection uses measurement of Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) and using a dietary instrument or Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Quesionnaire (SQ-FFQ) with the help of Food Picture and date using the Pearson correlation test. Results: The hypothesis test results show that the Pearson correlation test results obtained p value is 0.040 where this coefficient is smaller than the significant level of 0.05. The research hypothesis that emerged was H1 accepted, so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between eating patterns in pregnant women with obesity. Conclusion: There is a correlation between eating patterns in pregnant women with obesity in the Kedungkandang Health Center in Malang.
