- The economic growth is a process of changing the economic conditions of a region to a better condition in a certain period. In order to carry out the development is preferred in sectors that have advantages. The purpose of this research is to know the potential of superior sector in Regency/City of North Maluku year 2011-2015. The analytical tools that used in this research were location quotient analytical and shift share analysis. The result of location quotient analysis can be known that the superior sectorin Regency/City of North Maluku Province still dominated by education service sector. The result of Shift Share analysis can be seen that some sectors in the differential and positive proportional shift of agriculture and forestry sector, big and retail trade sector, the last is car and motorcycle repairs. in addition, the economic structure of Maluku North Province was shifted from the secondary to tertiary sector with a contribution.
