- Background: Myrmecodia pendansis one of the herbal plants that has antidiabetic properties because of its flavonol compounds. Medicinal preparations containing Myrmecodia pendans in the market are still in simple forms such as dried simplicia, herbs, herbal teas, and capsules. Therefore, it needs to be further developed as a standardized preparation. For this reason, standardized active extracts are made, then formulated in the form of Myrmecodia pendans extract tablets. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of 1%, 3%, and 5% primogel content as a desintegran material on the physical quality of Myrmecodia pendans extract tablets and choose a formula that meets the standardized requirements, and determine the optimal levels of primogel that able to produce Myrmecodia pendans extracts tablets. which fulfills the standards. Method: Myrmecodia pendans extract was made by kinetic maceration method using 96% ethanol as solvent. The tablet was made by wet granulation method with primogel desintegran material. Examination of tablet physical qualities includes hardness, friability, and dissolution time of tablets which then analyzed statistically. Results and Conclusions: From the results of statistical analysis, the effects of primogel levels between 1%, 3%, and 5% on Myrmecodia pendans extract tablets gave a significant difference in hardness, whereas in friability and dissolution time between 1% (F2) and 3% (F3) significantly differ with 5% (F4). Formula 3 with 3% primogel level is the chosen formula on Myrmecodia pendan sextract tablet that is good and meets the standardized requirements.
