- Mathematics is a science whose development is influenced by socio-cultural context. Learning mathematics needs to be integrated with culture (ethno mathematics) in order to improve quality of learning and education. One of the ways is by developing learning media in mathematics with culture-based by utilizing such technology as Madura Smart Math. The learning Media “Madura Smart Math” is applying Adobe Flash CS6 Professional application which contains geometry subject about 2D and 3D shapes, this media is also equipped with exercise to increase learners exploration to be motivated in the learning process. This research belongs to research and development of Thiagarajan with 4D viz., define, design, development, and dissemination. The implementation of Madura Smart Math was validated by 2 media experts and 2 subject-matter experts then it was conducted limited trials to 2 practitioners or teachers and 8 students then it was followed by the main test to 16 students and the last step was operational trials to 30 students from 3 different schools. The methods used in data collection were interviews, documentation studies, and questionnaires that had been validated by linguists and subject-matter experts. Then, the data obtained was analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. In this study, the media expert feasibility average percentage was 82.1% (feasible), the subject-matter experts average percentage was 78.9% (feasible), and practitioners or teachers average percentage was 88% (feasible). Based on the result of validity level, practicability and effectiveness, the results obtained were as follows it was valid with average percentage of 82.1% included 4 aspects (user friendly, entertainment value, animation display, and design future). Practicability with average percentage of 83.9% included 2 aspects (educational effectiveness and learning activity) and effectiveness with the average percentage of 81.4% included 4 aspects (motivation, attractiveness, easiness and usefulness). Thus, Madura Smart Math learning media can be used as a medium for learning mathematics in junior high school.
