Daftar Isi:
- Fig leaves are obtained from Ficus carica L. plants that live in Indonesia. The fig leaves is used for treatments such as curing cancer, because the fig leaves is believed to cure cancer because of its antioxidant compounds which stimulate cell strengthening in the immune system. Fig leaves studied were rich in flavonoids that correlated with antioxidant activity. The fig leaves is extracted to get the substance from the mixture by bringing the substance in contact with the solvent which at the initial stage is dissolved in the desired material. Polar, semi-polar, and non-polar solvents were selected in order to determine the best extraction results. This study aims to determine the effect of the treatment method of drying and the type of solvent on the content of antioxidant activity, total phenol, total flavonoids, water content and yield on tin leaves extract. This research was conducted during the stages of the study to obtain extracts. The treatment consists of three factors, namely the drying method (sunlight in the greenhouse, artifisial air dryer and wet / fresh as a control) and the type of solvent (ethanol 96%, ethyl acetate and n-hexane). The parameters observed in this study were yield, moisture content, antioxidant activity, total phenols and total flavonoids. The results showed that the treatment of artifisial air drying and 96% ethanol solvent had a water content value of 5.67% with a yield of 12.57%, a total phenol of 39.04 (mgGAE / g), a total flavonoid of 46.58 (mgQE / g), antioxidant activity 49.04%.
