- In growing populaitons, so the electrical energy demand is also growing. Therefore a reliable electricity distribution system is needed to maintain the continuity of electricity distribution. The rate of return of the electricity distribution system can be seen from the SAIFI and SAIDI indices. Using the RIA (Reliability Index Assessment) method and simulation using ETAP software, the distribution system reliability index can be known. The RIA method uses network topology and data for each component in calculating the value of SAIFI and SAIDI. Whereas ETAP is software used to simulate and reconfigure a single line diagram by adding a recloser. The addition of the recloser works to reduce the frequency of the distribution system by adding a recloser to the part that has the highest added noise. The results of approving the recloser were able to reduce the SAIFI index by 0.3894.
