- Background : Pediculosis capitis is a parasite on the scalp that is attached to the hair. because this disorder is considered mild and its mortality is low, especially in countries where there are other more serious health priorities. However this disease has caused significant morbidity among school children throughout the world Purpose of research : To find out the effectiveness of Hair Personal Hygiene Counseling on the Treatment of Capitis Pediculosis on Santri Knowledge Levels at Boarding School X Probolinggo City. Metode : his study uses a pre-experimental research design with one group pre-test and post-test design research designs. Sampling using simple random sampling technique with 60 respondents. Results : research results show the average value of knowledge of students at the time of the pre-test was 12.93 and the average value at the time of the post-test increased to 13.88. Hair personal hygiene counseling about capitis pediculosis treatment to the level of knowledge that is with a p value = 0.189 or p˃0.05 which means that personal hygiene counseling is not effective on the level of students' knowledge Conclusion : There is no significant difference in the level of knowledge of students with counseling provided
