- As developing countries, India and Indonesia has conduct bilateral relations that have been established for decades. The partnership was later updated in The New Strategic Partnership which emphasized the economic development and defense of regional security. The agreement which was inaugurated in the era of Manmohan Singh as a prime minister of India is still being carried out until today.This study aims to describe the relationship between India and Indonesia in the context of bilateral cooperation and especially The New Strategic Partnership 2011 using concept of National Interest. The concept explains how the bilateral relations between the two countries are always colored by the interests of each country and external factors which underlying the policy. The research uses descriptive research models and uses qualitative analysis techniques with methods of collecting data from literature. The results of this study show that India uses Indonesia as a collaborative partner to be able to grow the level of the economy, collaborate with Southeast Asian countries through its bilaterals with Indonesia, and program on counter terrorism.
