- Along with the changing times, electrical energy has become a basic need in daily life that is used by households in operating electronic equipment, such as tvs, refrigerators, heaters, irons, and so forth. The use of electrical energy which is sometimes excessive can cause an imbalance in the load so that it can cause an overload and cause heat effects on the conductor cables. Coupled with the passage of time causes aging at the age of electrical installations, resulting in decreased quality and performance in electrical installations. As for other factors that did not meet the standards of PUIL 2011, causing an electrical installation in a house to be unsafe. Aging in the conduit can cause leakage in the electric current. Therefore it is necessary to conduct repeat tests and periodic inspections on each house with an installation age of more than 5 years. In this study, testing and inspection will be carried out on 10 houses in the village of Kalisongo, Kab. Malang with the aim to provide information to the public about the importance of observing the applicable PUIL 2011 standards. The instrument that will be used in this research is megger, used to measure insulation resistance in electrical installations in homes. The results obtained will then be a means for certain agencies to pay more attention to the terms and conditions that apply in the process of installing electrical installations in a house or building.
