Daftar Isi:
- In invading Iraq, the Government of the United States of America (US) not only uses its national military power but also involves companies that provide private services, known as the Private Military Company (PMC). Unfortunately, many of the US PMCs are involved in cases of human rights violations in Iraq and are not in accordance with the terms of the contract. The concept used in this study is the first Military Industrial Complex (MIC) popularized by Eisenhower and is the forerunner of the emergence of many PMC companies. MIC aims to explain how science, technology and society interact with each other in a container of defense institutions since World War II. The second concept is the concept of the Private Military Company (PMC) which can be said to be a transition from MIC. According to Peter W. Singer PMC is a defense service provider company not only as a defense manufacturing provider like MIC. The final concept is international law and human rights. Where both are interrelated for later use in explaining the phenomenon of human rights violations by the US PMC. The results of this study were the discovery of various types of gross human rights violations that violated the provisions of International Human Rights Law such as torture of prisoners by CACI INC employees and the killing of Iraqi civilians by different US PMC company employees ranging from Blackwater, Dyncorp to Triple Canopy.
