- This research stems from the number of culinary-based accounts in Malang that provide culinary references. But it is not yet known whether this culinary-based account affects the reference needs of the community, especially overseas students or not. So this study aims to determine whether there is an influence of the @malangfoodies Instagram account on references in choosing culinary in Malang and how much the influence of Instagram @malangfoodies Account influences on references in choosing culinary in Malang. The theory used is the AIDA theory. In this study, researchers used a quantitative approach to the survey method. The distribution of questionnaires was done online which was then processed with a simple linear regression analysis test, T test, and the coefficient of determination test. Respondents in this study amounted to 60 people based on pre-survey results who are students from East Kalimantan class of 2018 who studied at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, know and follow @malangfoodies account and have an income of at least 1.5 million per month. The results of the study mentioned that there is an influence of Instagram @malangfoodies Account Affected Against Reference to Choose Culinary in Malang City. The magnitude of influence between variables is 23.3% or less influential. Where 76.7% influence is caused by other factors not examined by researchers. Obtained overall data is valid and reliable.
