- Of particular interest to researchers in this study is the social criticism contained in a song lyrics. Song lyrics rarely raise issues of concern around the creator, nor do musicians rarely criticize issues through a song. Researchers selected three of the songs studied in the album Akibat Pergaulan Blues, the songs being Suci Maksimal, Bahaya Komunis, and Doa Sejuta Umat. The three songs are researched for social criticism in the lyrics of the song. A summary of the issues in this study is How do social criticism messages in the lyrics to the album Akibat Pergaulan Blues with Jason Ranti's Work? This study uses a qualitative, postpositivistic approach, using the Teun A Van Dijk model discourse analysis method. The unit of analysis in this study is three of the eleven songs of the Blues Affair. The three songs then focus on the research that is per byte of each song already described. The result of the song's lyrics is about what social criticism Jason Ranti is trying to convey. The social critique is about judging someone by appearance, and then not to be easily swayed by issues that are not necessarily the case, and to respect each other because humans have their own way of life.
