  • The purpose of this research is to: Describe the steps in applying of Teams Game Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model and increase the interest and learning outcomes of middle school students after applying of Teams Game Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model. This was a classroom action research using Kemmis and Taggart model. The model research activities include of four activities, namely: planning, action implementation, observations, and reflections. The reflection results were extrapolated to determine the improvement and refinement further action to achieve indicator of the success of predetermined actions. The research subjects were Grade VIIB students of Muhammadiyah 8 Batu middle school contains of 30 students. The component of the data collection was derived from the results of the assessment of pretest, posttest, observation sheets, questionnaires and documentation. The research result shows that the implementations of Teams Game Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model was capable of improving the learning interest and learning outcomes student mathematics. 23 or 82.14% of 28 VIIB grade students Muhammadiyah 8 Batu Middle School participating in the learning is included in the high interest category. The improvement of students' mathematics learning outcomes by 46.68% or 25 out of 30 students of VIIB grade at SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Betu is included in the category of moderate learning outcomes and above.
