  • IJ-EPA is a new chapter of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) for economic cooperation history between Indonesia and Japan where’s still accord with the WTO programs that have more comprehensive quality (based on the WTO agreements) added by the supply capacity building as the part of Partnership Agreement. Neverthless, there are some points that unbalanced which list in IJEPA agreement’s substance. That points are benefit for Japan. The methods of this research is descriptive. As the result is Japan’s trade strategy is based on framework of IJ-EPA that proved by industrial policy and strategic capitalism which is adopted by Japan. That strategy demands a guarantee for natural resources supplies such as LNG, oil, coal from Indonesia, and decreasing and eliminating import tariff for Japan’s export products to Indonesia which is based on the increasing economic cooperation with one of ASEAN partner, that is Indonesia. Japan’s trade strategy in IJ-EPA is based on Japan’s need to increasing industry quality for maintaining and increasing economic power in regional and international level.
