  • Life in a boarding school that is very different from the previous child's life makes santri have to make adjustments in order to survive until completing his education at the boarding school. Students who fail to adapt in the life of the cottage can experience various problems, including the exit at the beginning of the study, in the middle or at the end of the study period. The purpose of this study is to find out is there a relationship between adherence to self-adjustment in new students of Islamic boarding schools. Data analysis uses correlation techniques. The instruments used are attachment scale and adjustment scale. The results of this study indicate that there is a positive relationship between attachment to parents and adjustment to students, with a value of r = 0.464; p = 0,000. This means that the higher the attachment it will be the better the ability of adjustment, otherwise the lower attachment it will be worse also the adjustment of self in santri.
