  • This research aimed to determine the development and the effectiveness of Snake and Ladder learning media on Plane Geometry Shape material. The researcher employed qualitative as the approach and R&D (research & development) as the type of research. Then, eighth grade student of Islamic Junior High School was chosen as the subject of this research, and questionnaire and question sheet as the data collection and research instrument. The research was conducted under five steps of media development, namely, data collection, planning, product development, validation, and testing step. Based on the validation result conducted by media experts, it revealed 66,3% or valid categories. Furthermore, the implementation of snake and ladder game on geometry shape material was effective to be used as seen in these three aspects, which were motivation aspect gained 97,34% or good category, interest aspect earned 96,01% or good category, and student learning outcomes aspect achieved 95%.
