- “Kontruksi Kecerdasan Emosional Tokoh Utama dalam Novel Negeri di Ujung Tanduk Karya Tere Leye” is a study about the crimes of law in the country. This research aims to find the forms of intelligence that exist in the main character and the conflicts. In addition, this study aims to find the construction of emotional intelligence in the novel Negeri di Ujung Tanduk by Tere Laye. This research uses descriptive with qualitative approach method. The source of this research data is the novel Negeri di Ujung Tanduk by Tere Laye the seventh printed: May 2014. The data form in the research is a set of stories related to the research problem. This research uses library technique (textual) in data collection. The data analysis technique uses descriptive interpretative technique. Based on the research and discussion it can be concluded that 1) The forms of emotional intelligence which include: a) Self-introduction, which is reflected in recognizing emotions and knowing own strengths, as well as beliefs about self-esteem and abilities. b) As for self-regulation, it is manifested in managing emotions from the insistence of the heart that damage and maintains the norm of honesty and open to ideas, approaches, and new information. c) In the form of Empathy, represented in recognizing the emotions of others and developing them and being able to overcome diversity in society. d) While social skills. Proven by the ability to persuade to influence others and be able to negotiate and disagree. 2) The author's description presents the main character in this novel uses dramatic analytic methods. 3) The emotional intelligence construction of the main character in the novel Negeri Ujung Tanduk which was built by the author can be expressed in two ways, a) The forms of emotional intelligence, and b) the author's description in presenting the main character.
