- Good corporate governance as a system of good corporate governance, can set the pattern of a harmonious relationship between shareholders and management. Through the application of principles such as transparency, accountability, responsibility, Independence, and fairness, the concept of good corporate governance can align the interests of shareholders with management so that could affect the company's financial performance improvement. This study aims to determine the effect of good corporate governance on company financial performance diproxy by Cash Flow Return On Asset (CFROA). The population in this study is that the banking company to apply good corporate governance in the year 2006-2008 are as many as twenty companies. Technique of taking the sample using purposive sampling technique. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression test. Regression tests are used to test the effect of institutional ownership variables, managerial ownership, board size, proportion of independent commissioners, and the size of the company to financial performance. Results showed that the institutional ownership variable has an influence on financial performance. Meanwhile, managerial ownership, board size, proportion of independent board and measures komisari companies do not have influence over financial performance. The better the GCG implementation of a company the more bersar also willingness of investors to spend more sacrifices to own the company, so the company has a very strong brand because GCG associated with increased company image. However, GCG does not directly affect the operational performance of the company, because it is still low awareness of issuers in implementing good corporate governance. The management company has not attracted by the long-term benefit of GCG implementation so that they only run corporate governance as a formality to run the regulations made by the government. Based on the results, it can be suggested for further research can add other variables which also support the implementation of good corporate governance in a company. For investors this research can be a consideration in investing their funds in companies that have implemented good corporate governance as well.
