- Public transportation in Batu City is one of the facilities for people’s daily activities. However, due to the increases in population and traffic’s intensity, the number of public transportation must be added. There are 32 units of BSS-route public transportation with a capacity of 12 passengers per unit. This study aimed to investigate the performance service and the demand for BSS-route public transportation in Batu City. The results showed that the average load factor was 60,30%; the average travel speed was 16,59 km/hour; the average headway was 4,43 minutes, the average travel time was 3,63 minutes/km; the service time was 12 hours; the average frequency was 13, 83/vehicle/hour; the total number of operating vehicle was 83,21%, and the average waiting time was 2,22 minutes. Meanwhile, the average productivity was 74,64 passenger/vehicle and the demand for the optimum fleet was 30 units.
