In this study, the descriptive qualitative research design was used because the researcher wanted to investigate some phenomena in its natural setting. The subjects of this study were the Electrical Engineering students who learned ESP Speaking at University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The technique used to collect the data was interview, with the interview guides as the instruments. The research findings showed that the students faced three problems in learning ESP Speaking: (1) inhibition: the students felt shy to speak up and less confident to speak English; (2) nothing to say: the students could not produce proper sentences and felt difficult to pronounce English words; (3) mother tongue use: the students often used their local language on speaking class activities. Most of the students solved their problems by 1) trying to speak English in front of the mirror and they tried to invite the audience to speak in English too, while presenting in front of the class, 2) the student sometimes wrote the unfamiliar words on a piece of paper, used Google Translate to find the meaning and made vocabulary banks, keeping practicing the right pronunciation and spelling by listening music, watching movie, and watching YouTube channel, 3) keeping using target language by visiting IRO, BIPA in order to meet foreigners to practice their English. The researcher could say that the students faced linguistic and non-linguistic problems in learning ESP Speaking.
