  • When designing the generator there is a selection of the width of the airgap used in the design. The width of the airgap affects the flux linkage, voltage, current, and output power of the generator designed. To find out more about the effect of the width of the airgap, a study was conducted by comparing each width of the airgap. The width of airgap used is 1 mm – 6 mm at 0.5 mm intervals with the design of 12 10 pole slots. The permanent magnet that is used NdFeB neodymium iron boron 48/11. The desired power references ranges from 50 – 100 VA at a speed of 500 Rpm. Each design is analyzed and output parameters are compared in the form parameters of flux linkage, voltage, current, and output power. From the result of this study the conclusions is that the variation in the width of the airgap affects the specified output parameters. The results of variations of the width of the airgap indicate the value of flux linkage, voltage, current, and output power will be smaller if the airgap between the rotor and the stator is enlarged.
