  • Background: Diabetes mellitus is a disease where the body cannot produce insulin enough or cannot use the hormone insulin effectively. Fig extract (Ficus carica L.) contains a lot of cyanin-3-rhamnoglucoside which is thought to be an antioxidant that can reduce oxidative stress of male rats (Rattus novergicus) wistar strain induced by alloxan . Objective: To prove that there is an effect of giving fig extract (Ficus carica L.) to the histopathological depiction of pancreatic beta cells in male white rats (Rattus novergicus) wistar strain induced by alloxan. Research Method: True experimental with post test only control group design. The samples were divided into 4 groups, the positive group was given alloxan, group 1, 2, and 3 given alloxan and 25, 50 and 100 fig extracts (100 mg / kg / day). Result and Discussion: From the result of the one way ANOVA test, it was found that the significant effect (p <0.05). The result of the hoc bonferroni post test was found p <0.05 in mostly treatment groups, it meant that there was an effect of fig extract on increasing the percentage of pancreatic beta cells in rat. There were two data in groups P1 and P2 with a value of p> 0.05, it caused the variation in the average number of pancreatic beta cells in each rat in the same group. Conclusion: Fig extract (Ficus carica L.) influences in the histopathology depiction of pancreatic β cells in male white rat (Rattus novergicus) wistar strains induced by alloxan
