- Every nation speaks louder about environment issues, makes environment issues become contemporary issues that international system facing recently. To solve the problem, there should be cooperation between nation needed so Kyoto Protocol was esthablished as mutual agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. China as developed country with significant economic growth, faced the same problem. The greenhouse gas emissions risen year by year, pushed china to ratifies Kyoto protocol on 2002. By ratifying the protocol, china has committed reducing the greenhouse gas emissions that will effect the growth of china’s industry. As developed country, china has no responsibilities to ratifies the Kyoto protocol, but china’s participation was affected by values and believe of china’s. This research will discus about china’s reason ratifying Kyoto protocol with the values that affect china’s participation on ratifying Kyoto protocol using construtivism theory. This research using explanation method supported by kualitatif data with library resource. The result of the research shows that china’s reason ratifying Kyoto protocol was affected by confucianism values applied on peaceful coexsistence and peaceful rise of china as china’s policy which has a purpose to build peaceful china and non threatening china so pushed china ratifying Kyoto protocol on 2002
