- The purpose of this study is (1) To describe the implementation of the principles of good governance in Sepanjang Subdistrict Banyuwangi City, (2) Describe the quality of public services, (3) Describe the obstacles in the public service process. This research is a type of research and qualitative descriptive approach conducted on September 6 Agustus to 29 September 2018. This study uses data collection techniques, namely observation methods, interview methods and documentation studies. The instrument of this research is to use interview guides, observation and documentation guidelines. The research data analysis technique is by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. The validity of this research data uses source triangulation and technical triangulation. This study shows that (1) the application of the principles of good governance has been implemented well in accordance with the main principles, the principle of accountability, the principle of transparency, the principle of participation, and the principle of supremacy of law, and (2) in improving the quality of public services carried out by the government apparatus, it has also been implemented well in accordance with its duties and functions based on 5 indicators Public services namely velcity, accuracy, convenience and fairness and in the public services that have been (3) carried out there are obstacles, among others, in the process of making a cover letter for KTP, KK, due to information on procedures in making cover letters, not all of the community knows.
