  • Victim of juvenile peer victimization usually exhibits a relatively high social anxiety level. Family functioning serves as a precursor for social anxiety. This research is intended to find out if there is any correlation between family functioning with problem solving coping as a mediator variable. Research subjects are consisted of 148 teenagers between 13-16 of age and victims of peer pressure. The data are collected using Social Anxiety Scale-Adolescent (SAS-A), Family Assessment Device (FAD), and Coping Strategy Indicator (CSI) instruments. Data analysis is implemented using PROCESS macro to measure the effect of mediation. The result shows that there is a correlation between family functioning with social anxiety of victim of juvenile peer victimization (β=-0,63; p<0,01). It is found that problem solving coping could significantly mediated the correlation between family functioning and social anxiety (B=0,04; Z=1,98; p<0,05).
