- This research is meant for understanding the ways in terms of what actions did the tengger tibe’s done in order to keep their traditions still This thesis deals with the communication ethnography of the shaman in Argosari in guarding the Indigenous of the Tengger tribe. This type of research uses a qualitative approach with the type of descriptive qualitative research. To get data this thesis is using data from observations and interviews with subjects and also supported by the theory of group achievement. The subjects in this study is including three people with the criteria of the legitimate members of the shaman group in Argosari. Based on the result of the research it can be concluded that the communication ethnography process in the shaman group of the Tengger tribe in keeping their culture is carried out by the oral communication. The discovery of the research in this case has some points which can be elaborated as the first point, is the objective to lead the indigenous ceremonial up to keeping Tengger tribe security. The second point, is maintaining the interaction between the groups and members, members and communities in delivering information reciprocally. The third point, is the Tengger tribe hopes that the tourists will respect the natives by not disturb and alarm whatever belongs to the Tengger tribe. Until now, the shaman group is still guarding the customary of the Tengger tribe ideally.
