Daftar Isi:
- Natural forests in the Coban Trisula Resort working area are natural forest areas that have biodiversity that need to be preserved. The diversity of vegetation species in natural forests has the potential to become a place for the carbon cycle and can reduce the impact of global warming that is currently happening. One of the important functions of forests in a natural ecosystem is the process of assimilating carbon from free air. Plants in a forest ecosystem will reduce carbon in the atmosphere through photosynthesis and store it in plant tissue. Until the time the carbon is cycled back into the atmosphere. This research was carried out to find out how much carbon stock there was at the study site. The study was conducted in August 2018, the sampling method used was purposive sampling method due to the topographic conditions of the research sites that had steep cliffs, with a total of 117 plots. From the results of the study, it is known that the estimated number of tree carbon reserves is 53,191 tons / ha, understorey 1,205 tons / ha, litter 2,007 tons / ha, dead trees 0,843 tons / ha, and dead wood 0,0000235 tons / ha. Total carbon stock from all carbon sources is 57,066 tons / ha. So that it can be seen the estimated carbon stock stored above ground in all work areas is 300,063,423 tons. Total carbon dioxide uptake was 1,101,232,795 tons, and the release of oxygen by plants was 803,898,742 tons.
