  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of lemongrass oil (Cimbopogon Cirates) on anesthesia of black ghost fish ( Apteronotus Albifrons) and to determine the survival rate of the black ghost fish (Apteronotus Albifrons). The method used in this study was experimental method with a randomized completely design, with five treatments, one control and three replications. Each treatment was A (1 ml/l), B (1,5 ml/l), C (2 ml/l), D (2,5 ml/l) and E (3 ml/l), whereas for the control that achieved without any anesthetic solution. Parameters measured were the time unconscious, conscious recovery time, survival rate black ghost fish ( Apteronotus Albifrons), and water quality include pH, temperature, DO. The results showed that fish fainting fastest time obtained in treatment E with a concentration of 3 ml / L with an average time was 3,34 minutes. Recovery time conscious fastest fish obtained intreatment A with a concentration of 1ml/Lwith an average timeis 5,34 minutes. The highest survival rate is at a concentration of 1ml/L with an average value of 80% survival rate and the lowest survival rate in treatment 3 ml/L with an average of 20%.The water quality of each treatment is temperature range of24 - 28oC, DO of 2,4 to 3,8 mg/L, pH of 7–9.
