  • Coffee has a high economic value so that in some areas with suitable agroforestry such as Bondowoso, it is a leading commodity. In line with the development of the potential of the coffee-making area as a superior commodity, it is expected to be able to support the improvement of the community's economy. The problem faced today is the low productivity due to weather, this is due to the production of Arabica coffee and other types of coffee owned by farmers located on the slopes of Mount Ijen and Raung Mountain, decreasing as the coffee plants start flowering and the coffee flowers are damaged. Arabica coffee has been the mainstay of Bondowoso for export to a number of European and American countries. This causes a decline in the economy of coffee farmers who depend on their income from coffee. Based on the description above, this study aims to determine whether agroforestry systems can increase the economic value of robusta and arabica coffee in the BKPH Sukosari area of KPH Bondowoso and to find out that robusta and arabica coffee agroforestry systems can increase the income of forest farmers in the BKPH Sukosari KPH Bondowoso area. This research was conducted in October 2018 in the BKPH Sukosari forest area. The research method used is a qualitative research method with the method of obtaining data using the snowball method then the data obtained are analyzed by quantitative descriptive method followed by the analysis of Benefit Cost Ratio. Based on the data from the observations and discussions that have been obtained, the community around the forest, especially the communities around the BKPH Sukosari forest, have a dependence on living in the forest through the coffee plantations agroforestry system conducted by Perhutani. The results of the coffee agroforestry have a high selling price from coffee fruit to coffee powder itself so that it can improve the economy and can increase the income of coffee farmers and also Perhutani income itself as the owner of the land planted with coffee. In addition, the community or coffee farmers also want to be able to export coffee independently without going through the exporter to reduce the burden carried out by the community through high tax and excise fees from the exporter. Agroforestry contributions can be known by calculating Benefit cost Ratio (BCR) which has a value of> 1 and getting the results 43% of respondents who have BCR> 1.
