- Macroinvertebrates have an important role in aquatic ecosystems as indicators of water quality because the changes are relatively low, so they can be directly influenced by substances that enter the environment. Measurement of the quality of coastal ecosystems can be done by observing the structure of macroinvertebrate communities on the beach. One of the beaches that has the potential to know the structure of the macroinvertebrate community that is in it is Bahak Indah Beach, Curahdringu Village, Tongas District, Probolinggo Regency. This study aims to identify the types of macroinvertebrates and describe the diversity index, evenness index and dominance index. The method used in this study is the line transect method. Data collection using the observation method. Data analysis techniques in this study were calculated diversity index, evenness index and dominance index. The results of this study indicate that macroinvertebrates found in Bahak Indah Beach, Curahdringu Village, Tongas District, Probolinggo Regency totaled 18 species consisting of 13 families. The Shannon-Wiener (H ') diversity index value of 2.74 is included in the "medium" category. Evenness index value (E) 0.36 is included in the "low" category. The dominance index value (D) 0.06 included in the "still stable" category indicates that no individual dominates over other species. Measurement of environmental characteristics during the observation obtained temperatures ranging between 29 ̊C-35 ̊C, pH ranged from 7-84, salinity ranged from 19 ̊/ oo-26 ̊ / oo. Abiotic conditions that are still appropriate can affect the survival of macroinvertebrates in addition to the type of habitat (substrate) inhabited by these macroinvertebrates.
