- Inventory arises because of the synchronous number of requests with the number of items available and the time used to process the item. Therefore, the optimal inventory system is needed so that the supply of goods or services during the production and marketing process is stable. This article discusses the control of overstock inventory and stockouts with backorder on generic drugs. These problems occur because the company does not have an optimal inventory system. Therefore, this study proposes a continuous and periodic inventory control method based on the ABC-VED classification. The purpose of using the method is expected to reduce storage costs and provide a good service level. The results of research using continuous review can reduce storage costs and provide good service levels.
