Daftar Isi:
- Body odor is considered to be one problem that mostly experienced by a lot of people. The excreted fluid of apocrine gland which was brokendown by Staphylococcus epidermidis can cause an unpleasant odor. Cananga odorata is known for its beneficial as a natural antibacterial since it contained of active compounds such as essential oils, flavonoids, and saponin that can inhibit or kill bacteria. This study is aimed (1) to know the influence of Cananga odorata toward Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria inhibition zone, (2) to analyze the implementation of the results research the effectivity of the Cananga odorata extrac to the bacteria inhibition zone that can be used for leaning biology source. Furthermore, this True Experimental study used Post Test-Only Control Group Design. This study was conducted in Microbiology Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang there were seven treatments giveb 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, 100%, negative control (aquadest) and positive control (tetrasiklin 1.5×10 -4%). The data analysis used in this research was Kruskal-Wallis with the Games-howell as the post hoc test. The results of the study at a significance level of 0.05 indicated there was a significant difference a significant difference of the diameter of the inhibition zone. The extract concentration of 20% and 40% showed the results of real differences with concentrations of 40% and 60%, and concentrations of 60% and 80% were significantly different from the concentration of 100%. Thus, the result of this study can be used for learning biology source.
