Daftar Isi:
- PTPN VII Cinta Manis sugar factory uses a boiler as the main power plant in its production process. However, the efficiency of the boiler work is not optimal due to one factor, namely fuel. The purpose of this study is to know the causes of the decline in fuel quality and to know the impact of the effect of heat loss on boiler efficiency. Data retrieval method is used in the research process by conducting research directly to the PTPN VII Cinta Manis Sugar Factory during the milling period. The data that taken is in the form of report from mill station, boiler station and laboratory, then the inputted data is processed in the form of data analysis to find the calorific value in bagasse and to know how the bagasse production process. From the analysis that has been obtained, several errors are found during the sugar cane milling process to separate the juice cane sugar and the bagasse that cause a decrease in the calorific value of the bagasse. Based on the results of observation and calculation, obtained the fuel calorific value of 1827 kcal /kg and the boiler efficiency level of 66%. From the results of the research and calculation, a simulation is made to see the efficiency increase of the boiler by reducing the water content in the bagasse and increasing the dry matter in the bagasse, then obtained significant to boiler efficiency level 75%, results and several conclusions and recommendations that can be used by companies for better fuel handling in the sugar cane milling process.
