- Background : Syringe contraception is one of the dominant contraceptive methods compared to other contraceptives because it is more effective in preventing conception and practical, and contains synthetic hormones and natural hormones. The acceptor prefers DMPA syringe contraception because it is cheaper in price, more effective, and has a longer period of review. However, syringe contraception has many side effects so that many problems are experienced by acceptors. The purpose of this research is to find out the description of menstrual pattern of syringe contraception acceptors in Ngantru Village Clinic - Bojonegoro. Method : Used descriptive research design with quantitative approach. This research was conducted in June 2019. The subjects of this study were all syringe contraception acceptors in Ngantru Village Clinic - Bojonegoro with 36 acceptors taken with Total Sampling. Data analysis used is Descriptive Test. Result : Based on the results of Descriptive Test with SPSS assistance the study it was found that 63.9% of acceptors experienced changes in the duration of menstruation, 80.6% of acceptors experienced regular menstrual cycles before using syringe contraception, and 75% of acceptors experienced changes in the menstrual cycle after using syringe contraception, and obtained as many as 25% of the total respondents did not experience menstrual disorders. Discussion : Regulary used of syringe contraception can caused side effects on acceptor menstrual patterns, among others: changes in menstrual patterns, including the duration of menstruation, menstrual cycle before using syringe contraception, and menstrual cycle after using syringe contraception, and menstrual disorders. Menstrual disorders that often occur in syringe contraception acceptors include hypomenorrhea, hypermenorrhea, polimenorrhea, oligomenorrhea, amenorrhea, premenstrual tension, mastinia, mittelschmerz, and disminorrhea.
