- Adolescece is a transition period from childhood to adulthood. At this time, someone will form and develop their identity. The self-concept is considered as one part of forming the identity itself. The self-concept is an individual’s views or ideas about him that is formed from the result of interactions with others, the environment and their experience about it. Smoking is a behavior that is often considered a sign or symbol of one’s maturity. This behavior is easily imitated and shown by teenagers to get recognition from others. The purpose of this study is to describing the self-concept of male adolescence smokers. The research is quantitative descriptive and the sample used on this study were 120 teenage boys. The scale model used is a scale from Dian (2008) developed from Fitts theory with external and internal dimensions. The sampling technique used was incidental sampling. The results showed that the self-concept of male adolescents was balanced
