- Intersection of Jalan Raya Gajahmada-Mojopahit-Lukman Hakim is one of the signalized intersections in Tuban regency. This area is included as commercial area that contains new market of Tuban regency, shopping center,access road to tourism resorts, a hospital which is one of the biggest in the regency. Being a commercial area has caused a high traffic level on the intersections which created traffic congestion and intersection performance potentials. Tis study aims at finding the traffic characteristics and the intersection performance. The method used in this study is Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (MKJI) 1997. The result of the study shows that this signalized intersection has northern causeway of 485 pcu/hour, western causeway of 1050 pcu/hour, southern causeway of 602 pcu/hour, eastern causeway of 2077 pcu/hour). The degree of saturation of the intersection (northern causeway 0.57; western causeway 0.73; southern causeway 0.73; eastern causeway 0.85) and vehicle queu length (northern causeway 108 m, western causeway 160 m, southern causeway 178 m, eastern causeway 221 m) shows that the intersection performance is low. The alternative to overcome the issue is by using three phases which will change the time cycle.
