- Vocabulary mastery has always been an essential part of English as Foreign Language. From the importance of vocabulary above, teachers should give serious attention in teaching vocabulary especially to the children, because it is a crucial thing in learning English. Example of the problem occurred in teaching English in Junior High School Students is difficult to memorize the vocabulary. Therefore, teachers use various strategies in teaching vocabulary. One of the strategies that can be used by the teacher is using media to support the teaching learning process. There are some teaching media available; one of them is that Word Cloud can be applied to improve students’ vocabulary. This research is conducted to know how the Word Cloud Media improve students vocabulary. To achieve this purpose, the researcher used classroom action research (CAR) as the design. The instrument that were used to collect the data were observation and test. The observation was done in order to obtain the data about students’ activities during teaching and learning process. The test was used to know the students’ ability in vocabulary mastery. Based on the result of the observation and the result of pre-test and post-test, it can be concluded that Word Cloud Media can improve students vocabulary mastery. In pre-test students got 58.25, in Cycle I they got 61.03 and in Cycle II they got 75.38. The result of Cycle II reached above minimum passing grade, 75. Therefore, from the significant improvement score from pre-test until Cycle II, it can be seen that teaching English vocabulary by using Word Cloud Media can improve students’ vocabulary mastery.
