- PT. Kereta Api Indonesia is a company that works in the field of transportation that is in high demand by the community because it is more economical and more flexible in its use. This is evidenced by the greater carrying capacity of both humans and goods compared to other means of transportation. Convenience is an essential factor for users of public transportation services, one of which is the use of railroad stairs that are not in accordance with the dimensions of the Indonesian people's body. So to get the desired standard, it takes the size and design of a new ladder using an ergonomic method using the anthropometric approach. By using this method, it is expected to be able to redesign the railroad stairs in accordance with the anthropometric dimensions within the peron station. The research phase is to determine what anthropometry is needed, measure the dimensions of the human body as the basis for product redesign, determine the percentile used before designing the product, and identify the needs of respondents through a questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that the size of the train stairs used does not match those contained in the station platform. The design proposal given is to adjust the dimensions of the stairs to the anthropometric dimensions of Indonesian society, add handrails and provide wheels so the stairs can be moved easily within the peron station.
