  • The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences building has an 8-storey building plan and in its planning, this building is planned with reinforced concrete for its structure then an alternative planning is made using composite steel structure for its portal for this final project. Unwittingly using steel is still not widely applied even though the material of steel has a high stiffness and strength is superior to other materials. In planning buildings that have earthquake resistance this is standardized in SNI-1726-2012, and SNI-1729-2015 for reference planning for steel structure buildings using the LRFD (Load Resistance and Factor Design) method, as well as the imposition of building planning based on SNI 03- 1727-2013, and the concrete planning used SNI-2847-2013. LRFD method is a method used to design structures that are based on the durability of the plastic rigidity method (Ultimate). Structural planning can be calculated and analyzed in advance to overcome geometrical imperfections and stiffness reduction. At the beginning of this building plan, the first step is to study the drawings and data from building, then do the initial dimensions and calculation of the structural loading and analyzed using StaadPro v8i for control and planning. In this plan the use of composite plates for the floor is using a floor deck type W-1000, for columns, beams, and bracing using the WF hot rolled profile.
