Agus ZainudinMP dan Ir.Misbah Ruhiyat, M.Si ABSTRACT Increased food needs, especially rice every year caused by increasing population, so that the need for rice in the food sector is increasing. Genetic engineering can be used to increase rice productivity. Superior rice varieties are produced through plant breeding using mutation techniques. Mutations can be defined as sudden changes in inherited genetic material. The purpose of this study is to determine the vegetative and generative performance produced per individual MSP 4 and MSP 13 rice which has been irradiated at a dose of 300 Gy Research on vegetative and generative performance of rice strains (Oryza sativa L.) generation M1 on gamma irradiation treatment at a dose of 300 Gy, using a single plant method for each individual. MSP 4 has 45 genotypes and MSP 13 has 60 genotypes. by measuring the vegetative and generative performance, which is planted in an area of 3.2 m x 10 m. Then a similarity test is done using Minitab software. Variables observed included vegetative phase (number of tillers, plant height, stem color, stem angle, number of leaves, leaf width, leaf ear color, leaf tongue color, leaf color, leaf surface and flag leaf angle), generative phase (age flowering, harvest age, fresh grain weight, dry rice grain and 100 grain weight). The diversity of individuals M1 MSP 04 and 13 is different between individuals. This difference occurs in vegetative quantitative performance, generative qualitative quantitative and generative variables. But the qualitative vegetative performance has similarities, namely the color of the leaf ear (white), the color of the leaf tongue (white), the color of leaf strands (dark green), the leaf surface (medium), the color of the stem book (green).
